Christopher Kimmins presents : Graphic Design

I'm Christopher Kimmins, I study Graphic/Packaging Design at Sheffield Hallam University. Just sharing some of my work so far.. also things i'm liking at the moment and things that influence me.
This is my final bottle shape, for my easy to pour milk bottle. The idea is for the user to be able to lift this bottle easier than a normal straight up glass bottle. The reason I picked the glass bottle and not the usual plastic milk bottle with a handle is because the elderly person I did my case study on always had her milk deliveried to her, because its easier than going to the shops everyday, the curve on the inner part of the bottle is perfect ergonomics for the user to hold in the palm of their hand, the outta curve on the other side is perfect for their hand to cup, the ridge acts as a support for the pushing motion it takes to pour the milk. The spout for the milk to leave is angled to one side so the contents will pour without having to use as much lifting or turning motion.
The cap is designed to be easy to open. All it should take it the users thumb to pop it off, keeping it perfectly sealed and keeping the product fresh for aslong as possible.
The glass bottle is completely 100% recyclable and is also re-usable because it is washable. Producing less waste.
Overall I feel this is a very successful image and product. It meets all of my design spec and I’ve developed alot of new skills creating this through 3D CAD software Solidworks. Using this technique for my final model I really feels adds to my portfolio.
